Here at Goosedale, Christmas is undoubtedly our favourite time of the year! Not just because we offer one of the best services when it comes to venue hire in Nottingham for festive parties, but because there is so much going on in our city.

Christmas markets, pantomimes and ice skating – Nottingham has it all this year and it would be a shame to miss out. Below, we have picked our favourite things to do in and around the city over the festive period.

Nottingham Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland is back in Nottingham’s Slab Square and is sure to be packed to the brim as it is every year. Open from 17th November to New Year’s Eve, Winter Wonderland brings a slice of Bavarian-styled celebrations to the East Midlands.

Also, back after popular demand is the Ice Bar for its second year at the attraction, where some of the sculptures last year included the Nottingham Council House. Be quick, because this is sure to be one of the more popular visits at Winter Wonderland.

Christmas Parties

Christmas parties are in full swing by now, and here at Goosedale, our venue hire Nottingham packages have proven to be very popular. At our venue, we cater for all sized parties, offering free Wi-Fi, fantastic service and 100 acres of breath-taking landscape, making us one of the most popular places to celebrate the festive period in the city.

Beauty and the Beast Pantomime

What Christmas is complete without a pantomime? This year, Nottingham girl-done-good Sherrie Hewson stars as Mrs Potty in the Theatre Royal’s Beauty and the Beast pantomime performance. The show runs from 9th December to 14th January, giving you and the family ample opportunity to catch a show!

Ice Skating

As anyone from Nottingham will tell you, two of the most famous sports stars to come from this city are 1984 Winter Olympic gold medallists Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean. It is little wonder, then, why Nottingham provides various options for ice skating over Christmas.

The Old Market Square, located in Winter Wonderland, has an outdoor ice rink, while the National Ice Centre is holding daily sessions on its indoor rink between 4th December and 7th January.

A Traditional Victorian Christmas

If you like your Christmas a touch more old-fashioned, then get yourself down to Newstead Abbey between 25th November and 23rd December for a traditional Victorian Christmas. Lord Byron’s ancestral home houses festive room sets and over beautifully decorated trees, with a range of other events held on the ground while attraction is open.
