Are you thinking about Christmas yet? Yes? No? Either way, it will be here before you know it and the team here at Goosedale are feeling excited – we simply cannot wait for the festive season! Before this years’ Christmas is over and done with, we are already planning for the next, but that might just be because we are excited about our annual festive event!
Of course, we know that not everyone is quite as giddy about Christmas as we are, and that’s fine, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t help set you up for the most wonderful time of the year. When it comes to planning the annual Christmas party, you don’t want to leave it too late.
Whether you are reading this coming off the back of Christmas, at the height of summer, or in the run-up to another festive season, we hope that our suggestions will help you with your own preparations.
Christmas is the one time of year when we can all let our hair down and look back on a busy 12 months. Of course, there is an even busier year that will soon come around the corner, but this is the time to celebrate. It’s a short window and you have to make the time count, so you will have to plan your events out well in advance.
As many sell out quickly, information about Christmas events is released nice and early, giving you as much time as possible to make a decision. If you don’t book early, by the time Christmas comes around, you find that all of the in-demand events have already been sold out, or you miss out on the best time to go.
For example, in Nottingham alone, there is always a plethora of proceedings around the city such as Winter Wonderland, the traditional Christmas Market, and Goosedale’s own seasonal event, which will see guests enter the Enchanted Frozen Forest this year. This will make for the adventure of the season, walking through snow streets illuminated by rustic lamps as you make you way into our stunning Lotus Lounge via the large old wardrobe. This year, fairy tales will come true here at our Nottingham venue.
We are proud to play our part in offering some of the finest entertainment in the city during the festive period.
Are you the sort of person who leaves all of your shopping until the last moment? Fighting through hordes of other unorganised shoppers on the high street in a desperate ploy to find gifts that your friends and family will not only need, but also want? This doesn’t sound like much fun! The chances are that you will leave the house without any idea about what you are planning on purchasing – more commonly known as the ‘wing it’ approach.
Perhaps, instead of browsing the shelves in the hope of finding the perfect gift, you dedicate an entire night to complete your Christmas shopping online. With online retailers offering free next-day and, in some cases, same-day delivery, we can’t say that we blame you. With that being said, though, you are still at the mercy of the post – can you imagine getting to Christmas morning and having to explain to your other half why they haven’t got anything to open?
That can all be saved by shopping throughout the year. Not only does this mean that you can space out your budget over 12 months as opposed to one massive hit in one single paycheque, you instead beat the manic rush. Imagine how content you would feel knowing that all of your Christmas shopping has been finished before the end of the summer – before anyone else has even so much as thought about starting theirs.
Maybe you are not planning on sticking around for Christmas and will be jetting off to somewhere warmer to enjoy your slice of roast turkey this year. If so, then no doubt you have already thought about this year’s festive plans.
Equally, it might be something that you have always wanted to do but have never quite got around to it. If this sounds more like you, then it is time to start to think about Christmas earlier on in the year. Australia always makes for a favourite winter getaway as those down under are basking in the summer sun – that’s right, Christmas dinner on the beach! What better way to congratulate yourself for a productive year?
Of course, you don’t actually have to jump on a plane for a winter getaway. It could just be that you aren’t spending the festive period at home and you are, instead, travelling to spend Christmas with family. If that is you, then enjoy not having to host everyone!
We all know the feeling of seeing the year fly by without a moment’s notice, so it is only right to start thinking about Christmas nice and early. With your presents, family, office events and all other plans sorted before the mad rush sets in, that is the best way to ensure as stress-free a Christmas as possible!
